The Ready Steady Store facility in Worsley required a comprehensive external refurbishment to address aesthetic degradation and early-stage structural weathering. The building envelope exhibited significant UV fading and localised oxidation. The commercial objective was twofold: to restore the asset to brand standards and to apply a protective coating system that would extend the cladding’s functional lifespan.
Approach
We executed a technical refurbishment plan focused on arresting decay before applying the aesthetic finish.
Corrosion Remediation: Prior to coating, our inspection identified critical cut edge corrosion at panel overlaps. These failure points were mechanically prepared, treated, and encapsulated to arrest “peel-back” and prevent future capillary water ingress.
Uniform Application: We utilised high-volume airless spray equipment to apply a UV-stable, high-performance coating system. This ensured a consistent, factory-grade finish across the corrugated cladding.
Asset Integration: To guarantee a cohesive visual identity, the scope included the respraying of aluminium office window frames, colour-matching them perfectly with the main building envelope.
